Rita Tateel

Rita Tateel has been working with celebrities for over 30 years — first as director of a speakers bureau for a national non-profit organization, then as President of a celebrity booking agency, and for the last twenty-eight years, as Founder and President of The Celebrity Source, Inc. Ms. Tateel has a Masters Degree in Social Work and a Bachelors Degree in Child Development.

Over the years, Rita Tateel has developed many relationships within the celebrity community, with her company currently having access to thousands of stars from film, television, music, sports, fashion and digital in addition to other “influencers” and experts. One of Tateel’s clients calls her “the celebrity whisperer” because she is so skilled at getting celebrities to say “yes.”

Rita Tateel is also a dynamic and entertaining speaker who specializes in educating her audiences about the “art and science” of working with celebrities and their representatives. She is a frequently requested guest lecturer at UCLA, USC plus other universities and many professional organizations. She is the author of the soon to be published book “Catching Whales: How to Reel in Celebrities to Endorse Your Brand, Business or Organization.”

Ms. Tateel is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and California Festivals Association. She is also a founding member and advisor to the Association of Celebrity Personal Assistants and on the Executive Committee for PRSA’s national Entertainment & Sports professional interest section. Tateel is only the third person in the 68 year history of Los Angeles Chapter of PRSA to have served two terms as its president (2008 & 2009).

Rita Tateel lives in Los Angeles with her solar contractor husband, Ted Bavin, and their cats Honey and Brie.

A quote from Rita on Here to Serve: “I cannot imagine what it must be like for a family to have a critically ill child and still go on with the necessary daily tasks of life. The mission and work of Here to Serve is amazing and touched my heart, which is why I’m so happy to do what little I can in an advisory capacity.”
