The Cost of Supporting One Family

Here to Serve provides customized in-home services and support for our families’ specific needs. This tailored approach to care relies on our Care Coordinators who dedicate a significant amount of time to getting to know each family and setting them up for success with our care communities. From there, they provide timely and necessary support throughout the cancer journey, all of which requires consistent financial support for each family:

  • Average annual cost of support: $6,000
  • Average monthly cost of support: $500
  • Average set-up cost: $300

While the average cancer journey is 18 months, many families we work with need extended in-home support, which can last for 2-5 years. Consistent monthly support for these families is critical to enabling them to focus on what matters most – caring for their children and coming out emotionally and financially intact.

Funding Research vs. Families

At Here to Serve we make an immediate impact on the lives of families with children battling cancer.

It was recently estimated that to develop a successful cancer therapy, it takes between 10-15 years and ~$1.3 Billion of investment. Alternately, it takes $30,000 for one Here to Serve Care Coordinator to support up to 40 families in need for a year.
